This gripe is influencing 566 people thru 10 friends and followers
I booked 2 air tickets for over $1500 via Expedia with AA for travel 8 days from now. No seat selection was offered, and I assumed it would be done automatically and that, if I were unhappy, I could call AA and have them changed. This is the policy I have followed for years with my work travel system and other booking agencies. I was told by AA I had no seat and they could not give me one with additional fees. Otherwise, I'd wait until checkin time (and of course get a middle seat, which is not ideal for a big guy like me). A
AA rep and then Expedia rep
They both said I was out of luck. No change possible "because Expedia is paid a fee by AA and AA won't make any seat changes for them." I will cancel my flight and not use Expedia again. AA will only be used as a last resort, even if I have to pay more for other airlines.
