On Tues., 6/19, I reported to Verizon that I had been without dial tone, on my home phone, for at least 24 hours. After following their test procedures, I disconnected all phones from their network and waited 10 minutes. Still no dial tone. Now I had to call them back to actually place the service call. I was told that they were ‘very busy’ and that no technician was available to address the problem until July 9th. After pleading for them to expedite the call they have informed me that the best they can do is July 2nd – 12 days without phone service!! This is an outrageous abuse of the consumer by a utility. I am seriously considering abandoning my land line altogether, or now that the cable companies are getting into the game, switching to Time Warner’s telephone service.
Customer Service: Ms. Perez & Ms. Hood
Dispatch a technician to fix the problem within 48 hours.
Unfortunately, this lack of customer service has become standard in this country. Companies just don't care about the people, they only care about the money. They don't act until they are forced into action.
Jun 20 2012I contacted Verizon @verizonsupport and informed them of your gripe. Hopefully they'll be in touch soon. Best, Kim (Gripe Support Team)
Jun 20 2012i'd also call your congressman. this is an outrage, even tho lousy customer service is the new normal
Jun 21 2012I called NY Assemblyperson Deborah Glick (D-66th District) and lo & behold a Verizon technician showed up the next morning. The problem was in the Verizon network (of course) and was resolved within 2 hours. I am filing a formal complaint with the Public Service Commission. Reasonable response should not take an act of congress.
Jun 24 2012Only by the intervention by the office of Assemblyperson Deborah Glick (D-66th NY District).
